STYLE: BREAK THE RULES THIS FALL

Fall is the best season. I don’t care for hot summer days at the pool or cold winter nights in front of a warm fire. Give me 60s, a warm coat, jeans and booties and I will be one happy lady. In congruence with the aforementioned list of my favorite things (cue Sound of Music), I think fall is the best season for fashion. After months of sweating through dresses and short shorts, its finally time to put on your favorite pair of jeans, your favorite booties and if you’re like me, a killer coat

If you took a look at my guest blog on Be Buddha Jewelry‘s site, you know that coats. are. my. jam. For me, I think they make an outfit. I tend to make them the focal point, but sometimes I get carried away with other items like the vintage green leather pants above.  And if you know me (and if you don’t, HELLO! I’m Chelsea, nice to meet you!), you know I don’t care for fashion rules. I’m all about the trend, but it I give it my own flare.

Take the coat above. I’m a larger chested lady and I’ll talk until the cows come home about it, but sometimes I forget that fact and buy things that don’t and will not cover the ladies. Solution? Take a vintage velvet scarf and drape it across my chest with an old Target belt and voila! Fall outfit. I think its a regal meets grunge look and I totally dig it for fall.

And last but not least, fall is the best season for leather. I wear my leather jacket almost every day of the week in fall. I throw it over jeans and a tee, leggings and a hoodie or (as displayed above) over a dressy look. Leather never goes out of style.

So whether you’re busting out your favorite pair of booties or you’re long peacoat, have some fun with your style this fall. Break trend. Rules need not apply.

Happy fall!!
