STYLE: When Floral Meets Leather

If you follow me on social media or see me in person, you’ve probably picked up the fact that I can’t just wear a floral outfit. I need to add something grungy to the outfit. Obviously there are times when I’ve broken my rule – case in point, this floral jumpsuit I wore to my cousins wedding and matched my look down to my white/blue Crap Eyewear sunglasses – but I typically stick to my “Wednesday Addams meets Molly Ringwald” look.

When I found this dress, I knew I’d hit the jackpot. Not only is it floral, but its ruffly and the best kind of burnt yellow. It’s easy to think this dress could serve as 1/5 of my wedding outfits for the year, but I knew I wanted to do something different. So I pulled out my favorite H&M leather jacket and went to work.

Once the base of the outfit was completed, I took a look in my treasure chest of rings and picked out the turquoise styles. The color really compliments the oranges and yellows in the dress. I completed the whimsical look with a pair of vintage silver metallic mules I found at Goodwill for $10. Yes, $10.
